Who We Are

The name of our organization is Friends of Niall O'Brien.  We are right now working on being registered.  We are a small group of private citizens who dream of a better Philippines and better world, and we believe that by volunteerism we all can make it possible.  By taking part and sharing ourselves, we become part of the solution to the problems our present society is facing. Each has to take part for better changes to become possible.

Our passion is to inspire and encourage young students to strive for a better community and brighter future. In a nutshell, AMBIT dares to raise the flag of hope in places where hope itself is as elusive as the people’s very next meal.

At the very heart of AMBIT is the knowledge that the people of its chosen communities need tangible help more than anything. As regards to this, the volunteers of AMBIT came up with the following yearly projects and activities since its conception in 2014.

1.       Notebook Distribution – AMBIT has distributed 27,000 notebooks to 3,200 grade school and high school students of its adopted communities in the towns of Hinobaan and Candoni, province of Negros Occidental from year 2014 up to the present.

2.       Parenting talk and seminars – AMBIT believes that every child is a million great possibilities. For a child to reach his or her full potential it is imperative that they grow up in a loving, caring and nurturing environment. So every notebook distribution activity, volunteers with counseling and child psychology background give parenting talks/seminars to the parent of our beneficiaries.

3.       Health – AMBIT volunteers from Philippine National Red Cross give a seminar and training on personal hygiene, basic home remedies and first aid during notebook distribution and Christmas Outreach activities.

4.       Environmental Protection Awareness – For every set of notebooks that a child receives, AMBIT sees to it that a tree is planted by the child as “payment” for the trees that went into their notebooks. Through this we also get to inculcate in them responsible stewardship and that they’re not merely receiving dole outs.

5.       Child Sponsoring  –  Right now we have four scholars under this program. Since AMBIT believes that no one is too poor/lacking to help, forming a team of sponsors who will pool their monthly pledges in order for us to be able to send the allowance to our scholar, can make things lighter and encourage more and more sponsors, too. We hope to be able to reach out to more students who will be qualified.

Mission
Our passion is to empower children from grass roots communities by facilitating educational support and materials, educating their parents on proper parenting, health and hygiene, responsible stewardship of the environment in order to provide a loving, caring, and nurturing environment for the children of these communities.

Vision
By 2026, we envision AMBIT to become less needed in the villages it currently serves to that we can more on to the next village and start our mission all over again.
Motto

Every child is a million great possibilities.

How we are funded: Pass the hat among friends.

How we handle our finances:
1.       Fully transparent. Every penny is accounted for with corresponding receipts.
2.       Donors can follow their money down to the child or children who benefited from.
3.       Every donor has the right to know how their money was spent.
4.       Accounting records are posted on our website for all to see.

5.       Donors who wish to be anonymous are very much respected but we still have accounting in our exclusive online group where volunteers and donors are members.
