Reaching out to the Magahats

It was pure joy for me to be able to proceed with the notebook distribution to the Indigenous People in the uplands of Sipalay, further up the roads from Damutan. It was the people of So-So who suggested to Ambit to include them in the notebook distribution, which made this particular activity more special: One community beneficiary helping Ambit reach out to another community.

The Magahat Tribe are considered there to be the forsaken people, their identity is their own reason for their indolence. Receiving the notebooks for free has opened up for them a whole new world of not just opportunities but of kindness and acceptance from the more civilized society. I spoke to them briefly, explaining why Ambit chose them, and how the notebooks were gathered. I could see their serious faces breaking into smiles that instantly took away all my tiredness from riding the habal-habal and walking up the steep, muddy road to their isolated community. Soon enough, there will be life there. Ambit hopes to play with their children, hang out with their fathers, chit-chat with their mothers. Possibilities are endless. I can feel it in the throbbing of my heart. I thank the Lord for allowing Ambit this chance to continue Jesus’ mission here on earth./anabelle badilla-gubuan

New Beginnings

Indeed He is a God of new beginnings. I praise and thank the Lord for making us worthy of this Ambit experience, an experience of his love, provision, protection, peace, power and mercy. Last May 13-15 was a great affirmation for me. Salamat sa tanan nga volunteers, donors, all who took part to make this project become a reality. May the Lord take care of all your needs and keep you in his love always. From this month onward, Ambit will take on this road to the people and as a channel of all the blessing God will send them, Ambit is ever more ready!  /anabelle badilla-gubuan

Colors of May

Ambit's youngest child volunteer has successfully held his first ever Painting Exhibition together with his grandfather. Gabriel dedicated his summer vacation working on his artworks using mostly oil and chalk pastels. What made it special was the fact that he wanted to raise funds so he can buy notebooks for Ambit's children beneficiaries. Take a look at our little philanthropist and the joy of those who went to the exhibit./anabelle badilla-gubuan

Power of Eight

I fondly call them Tribo Bolo-Bolo. With eight kids in tow, my younger and brother and his wife tread along their journey depending not just on each other's strength but on God who gave them this cute, handsome and beautiful brood. My brother donating 500 notebooks for Ambit is one of the grandest surprises ever in my life, thinking that with such a huge family, whatever they earn, every cent of it is needed for their children. Last April my brother chose not to spend for his birthday celebration so he can send his donation for our notebook project. This kind of encouragement and affirmation simply leave me breathless and speechless, in awe of God's power of love. I am hoping this can even be multiplied more in Ambit, with the children who just like my own brother's children, need the same education and promise of the future.
